Green & Olive Choose Osmo
Bristol based Grace and Olive specialise in creating high-end, rustic, handmade wood furniture. The brand was born after a phone call between two friends, who were inspired by their daughters Amira Grace and Erin Olive, to start their business creating beautiful, bespoke wood furniture.
During their own home renovations, founders Jordan and Ross, designed and created locally sourced, rustic wood shelving in their kitchens and were delighted by the results. The shelves became the starting point for their brand.
“At the heart of our company is a passion to deliver real quality; from our wood products, through to the packaging. Our aim is to celebrate the beauty of rustic wood, enhance its natural grain and create products that you’d be happy to show off in your home.”

An exciting recent project has helped expand Olive & Grace’s experience into the commercial interiors market. Their brief was to design and build a mixture of Poseur and Pedestal tables for local bar Bristol Beer Factory, in Bedminster, Bristol. Everything from the steel frames to the wooden tops were designed and created by them to design furniture with the on-trend industrial look that the bar was aiming to achieve.
To enhance and finish the furniture they designed, the team used Osmo Polyx-Oil in 3032 Clear Satin. The product offers an extremely durable and hardwearing finish which is very water and dirt resistant. Osmo Polyx-Oil enhances wood’s natural character and delivers a microporous, breathable finish which does not crack, peel or flake.
“We use Osmo on all our furniture for its food safe and stain resistant qualities. For this type of environment where it’s likely to have lots of exposure to liquids, Osmo products offer a durable and hard-wearing finish. Knowing the tables were going to be used daily in the Tap Room, we were sure Osmo could stand up to the test.”

The Grace and Olive team used a brush to apply a minimum of 2 coats of the Osmo Polyx-Oil to their furniture. The subtle shimmer of the Clear Satin oil emphasises the natural beauty of the wood grain and the bar owner was thrilled with the results.
This project has given Grace and Olive the opportunity to showcase their stunning wooden furniture to other businesses and the team hope to continue with this type of project in the future.
The tables designed for the project will soon be featured on their website, available for domestic or commercial customers.
“We worked closely alongside the landlord and the feedback we’ve had since completing and sharing the project across social media has been phenomenal. A few hours after completing the install, the owner of the bar called up and requested additional furniture as they we’re so happy with the finished products.”
