Use Concrete Oil to protect design features
Interior design is a constantly evolving market, with designers always on the lookout for new and exciting ways of enhancing an interior.
In the last couple of years, there’s been a shift in the type of surfaces and materials that designers are choosing to work with. Concrete is one such example, as it can provide an interesting design feature.
Concrete has always been considered a practical material for building a property. But the desire for unique features has resulted in concreate being used to deliver design elements instead – be it as flooring, furniture, fixtures or decorative items. The material is so versatile that it can be used in a number of different ways and in a number of different locations.
Like many materials, concrete needs to be treated so that it remains in good condition and has a warm colour to it. And at Osmo, we have the solution for you.
Osmo Concrete Oil is a clear, satin impregnation oil that is designed to protect and enhance the appearance of concrete and provide a warm and rich colour.
Made from natural oils and waxes, Concrete Oil is a microporous and breathable finish that penetrates the surface, rather than forming a film on top of it. This prevents the finish from cracking, peeling, flaking or blistering. Once treated, the surface becomes water and dirt repellent a well as stain resistant.
Osmo Concrete Oil is ready to use straight from the tin – it does not need to be thinned – it just requires stirring. Before application, the surface must be absorbent, clean, dry and frost-free. By using a floor brush or application pad, apply the finish very thinly and spread it well across the surface. Any excess product should be removed. Ventilate the room well and leave the finish to dry for 8 – 10 hours, at which point, a thin second coat can be applied.
