Osmo helps to restore beautiful furniture
Rediscovered by Danielle is a bespoke furniture restoration and upcycling company based in Lichfield, Staffordshire. Run by Danielle Bayliss, the company creates high-quality, hand painted vintage and antique furniture to complement homes while adding character.
One recent commission involved modernising a Beautility sideboard/cocktail cabinet. The aim was to maintain the original beauty and style of the piece but update it sympathetically to fit in a modern home.
To achieve this, Danielle turned to Osmo Polyx®-Oil Effect Raw applied with a sponge. Its nearly invisible appearance suited the project as it avoided a permanent wet effect. It’s also quick drying so additional coats can be added after only a few hours to achieve the ideal result.
Importantly though, Osmo Polyx®-Oil Effect Raw is extremely durable and hardwearing, water and dirt resistant and it can cope with common spillages such as water, juice and wine. This ensures the cabinet will look incredible for years to come, even in a busy household. If any spot repairs or future applications are needed, there’s no need to sand the unit, so touch ups will be quick and easy.
“I use Osmo because I trust its finish and love the product. I particularly chose Raw as I wanted a more subtle finish to the grain compared to the 3032 I usually use. I’m really pleased with how the varnish has bought the grain back to life.”
