Application Techniques
The Prefect Technique with Osmo Tools.
Using good quality application tools are essential to achieve a high quality professional finish.
Brush Application
with Osmo Floor Brush
Made with 100% natural bristles with soft tips which gives fine control in achieving the desired effect. Make short work of large areas with exceptional coverage capacities to produce professional looking results every time.
With a high quality frame and robust backing plate, simply attach the extendable Osmo Telescopic Handle for applying in comfort. Ensure surface is clean and dry and apply thinly and evenly along the wood grain for perfect results.
Roller Application
with Osmo Microfibre Roller
Made with microfibres to ensure you get the best possible coverage allowing you to apply thinly and evenly. Surface must be clean and dry, apply along the wood grain and spread well. For first application, two coats is recommended onto a clean and dry surface. For re-application, just one coat is sufficient.
Cloth Application
with Osmo Easy Pads
Apply thinly with a clean lint-free cloth onto a clean, dry and smooth surface.
Work it in slight circular motions along the grain. Once you’ve wiped on a thin layer, use a dry cloth and wipe off in the direction of the grain to avoid streaks.
The first coat absorbs quickly, usually you can put a second coat on within approx. 4 hrs. We recommend 3-4 coats to provide a high quality finish with maximum protection.
Once finished, be careful with the cloth used as the product can spontaneously combust on a cloth if it’s scrunched up and left open to the atmosphere. If reusing the cloth, simply place into a sealed container for up to a couple of days. If not, lay the cloth out flat and leave it to dry completely before disposing.
Professional Application
with Floor-X-Center
Always ensure that you are using a product suitable for this type of application prior to use. Spread evenly with a wide scraper and wait approx 30-60 mins whilst the oil penetrates the wood surface.
Massage into the surface using a single disc machine with a green pad. Immediately after, apply a second coat using the the same method, applying onto the “wet” surface. Using a white pad, spread the finish evenly across the surface area.
If buffing machine starts to leave streaks because of over-application, we recommend turning the pad over or replacing it.
