Traditional wood oils and waxes are often not suitable for tropical ingredient-rich wood types, such as Teak, Walnut, Cedar, Iroko and Mahogany to name a few.
At Osmo, we have specifically developed a wood finish product called Wax Wax Finish Extra Thin 1101 ideal for tropical wood types like the ones listed above.
Please note, this product is not to be confused with the standard Osmo product Wood Wax Finish.
Considerations for Colouring Tropical Wood
On the rare occasion you wish to colour and/or stain your interior tropical wood, Osmo recommends adding up to a maximum of 10% of Osmo Oil Stain to Wood Wax Finish Extra Thin, should colour be desired.
Generally speaking, pigmented finishes do not absorb evenly into tropical wood types and/or provide a consistent colour tone for the wood surface.
