Osmo prides itself on the continual use of sustainable materials and supporting the management of our planet’s forests. This is why Osmo is certified in two instances for its use of wood within the company, via Germany and the brand ESCO wood flooring.
PEFC Certification for ESCO
ESCO Wood Flooring supports sustainable forest management and is therefore PEFC certified for all its specialist European oak flooring.
Being certified means ESCO upholds the values of PEFC who work throughout the entire forest supply chain to promote good practice in the forest and to ensure that forest-based products are produces with respect for the highest ecological, social, and ethical standards.
FSC© Certification for Wood
Osmo Holz und Color GmbH & Co. KG (Germany) supports sustainable forestry and works diligently to ensure that the origin of timbers used can be proven. To help improve, and with our natural resources in mind, Osmo has taken on the high standard of FSC© Certification for certain products.
Since January 2005, Osmo has been certified for the production and sale of FSC© products, certified products can be found in the catalogue carrying the FSC© logo.
Who is PEFC?
PEFC, the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification, is a leading global alliance of national forest certification systems. As an international non-profit, non-governmental organization, PEFC are dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management through independent third-party certification.
With over 330 million hectares of PEFC-certified forest, PEFC are the largest forest certification system in the world. To this must be added more than 20,000 companies that have obtained PEFC chain of custody certification, demonstrating their commitment to responsible sourcing of certified products.
Who is FSC?
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world’s forests. Since its foundation in 1994, FSC has grown to become the world’s most respected and widespread forest certification system.
FSC’s pioneering certification system, which now covers more than 200 million hectares of forest, enables businesses and consumers to choose wood, paper and other forest products made with materials that support responsible forestry.
